  • soccer team snack?

I have to bring the snack tonight for soccer, and I am the first parent to do so. Last week the coach brought goldfish. I planned to bring fruit leather. Does that sound ok? Should I do more than that?

I wanted to bring orange slices but DH said too messy and not fun. DD wanted nuts and raisins and popcorn but there is a peanut allergy.

Fruit leather sounds good. The kids will like it. I don't think you need to bring anything else...it's not like it's dinner or anything.

Your post reminds me of an "Everybody Loves Raymond" episode when Deborah (the mom) brings a snack not on the approved "snack list" to a soccer game and the psycho super-soccer parents freak. Haha. Funny. I love that show. There are no funny sitcoms anymore!!

Our soccer snacks were usually some kind of small bag of crackers/cookies and some kind of juice box. Parents didn't really care about the nutrition factor.

For snack week at crunchy school I brought:

        cheese on wheat crackers
        cheese sticks
        clementines
        juice boxes
        pretzel sticks

          Ditto.

I like the orange slices for halftime, though. I guess they'd need something to wipe their hands on.

fruit leather is fine. I usually do some kind of "trail mix" ala teddy grahams, raisins, pretzels & cheerios -- when I remember ahead of time. today Quinn's preschool class got 2 boxes of granola bars.
