Okay ... I was involved in a cub scout garage sale last weekend where I ended up buying more than I bargained for!! I did buy a GREAT couch for $75 so now we don't have to sit on the floor upstairs to watch t.v.
However, towards the end of the garage sale, the owner of the home where we had the sale, realized that she had forgotten to put out something for the sale. Out she comes with 3 hamsters in a cage with all the toys, food and wood shavings. She decided she had too many animals and had to get rid of something. My Zachary's eyes were HUGE and he wouldn't move away from the cage for the last hour of the garage sale. He begged, he pleaded and I said, "NO!" Then I said to call his dad and if he said yes than it would be okay. I was sure Russ would say no too even though we had considered getting Zach a pet. My husband talked to Zach for a minute and then I got on the phone and he said, "I'm so pathetic!!!" He gave in to our pleading boy!!!
So for $20 I got the whole works (which really was quite the deal!) and we now have added 3 hamsters to the household. Of course, it wasn't until later that we learned that the hamsters are all male. I just can't win!!!! 
I now have 4 boys, a male dog and three male hamsters in my house!!!!
My kids are SO happy though and they have been doing a great job of taking care of them this week. My hubby keeps sneaking into the kids' room at night and playing with the hamsters too. So .... Shorty, Speedy and Rocky are our latest additions!!!
