    You can still be super cute and modest in a two piece. Just look at Lexi!

      We've mostly been doing one pieces because DD1 has been swimming so much. She also has a speedo tankini that works well for lots of swimming. This summer though I'm not opposed to a two piece. I too adore toddler bellies as well as the belly that my preschooler still sports.

      I think that as long as they aren't string bikini style or too scanty it is fine.

      For all those days and days of bikini weather we have around here...

        Same here. As long as everything's covered, I don't care. I dressed them in bikinis and/or tankinis on purpose when they were in the diaper/pull-up stages b/c it made changes 100X easier.

          This is one of those things that doesn't even come close to my radar. If they want a bikini, cool, one piece, cool. Just not a big deal to me.
          I think this is culturally driven to some degree. Some places don't get freaked out about skin and others do and this filters down to the kids. I don't care about skin...I care about whether it appears salacious during the baby stage. Ironically, I still strip her down in front of people occasionally...a bikini is definitely more modest than the birthday suit.
