  • Do you?

We have been doing the Christmas stuff...wrapping, buying etc..

I was curious, do you have any good hiding places for the gifts, before placing them under the tree?

We have ours in our closet, and we have been lucky that no one has found anything...guess we shouldn't clean it to well. Anyway, DW and I were talking about when we were kids and how we would trek through the house trying to find gifts. I was just wondering if there are any better hiding places...

The trunk of my car, my office, and this year because we're going to my mom's, everything is being sent directly there. (how easy is THAT?!)

Yeah, I think my parents used to put presents in the locked cabinet in the basement that also had the toxic cleaning stuff that we weren't supposed to get into.

          Re: Do you?

We didn't hide anything this year, I even took Adele Christmas shopping with me. I guess I won't get away with that next year.

My parents always hid the presents in my dad's shop, in the high part of the closet that we couldn't get to and/or see, and in the hollow part of this bedside table they had in their room. My sisters and I are close in age so sometimes we'd ask for the same things. Mom learned not to wrap things or if she did not to label them until close to Christmas so if we did find something we didn't know who it was for.

I heard a great tip the other day. Number the gifts under the tree by person, like the kids are 5,6,7 and then keep a list that #5 if jane, #6 is jack, etc. Then the kids don't know who's gifts are whose until you tell them which number they are.

...out in the locked shed where we keep the lawnmower.

Our closet and the attic. So far, so good. If they have snooped and found them, we didn't find out.

I never found the presents either...although one year I did happen upon the wrapping paper that Santa used...that guy is super-magical.

I hopefully won't jinx myself, but my kids must not look that hard. We used to hide them in the attic but I'm not sure about this year. I usually hide them in my closet.

ours are all sitting in the dining room in the boxes they were shipped in. we haven't wrapped a single thing, and the boys know they aren't allowed to open boxes. there are a few things on the top shelf of the closet- but that closet is such a wreck that they wouldn't be able to discern a new thing from an old thing.

So, I called my parents to ask where they hid our presents when my brother and I were young, and my mom said "wha...? Why do you want to know? We still hide them there!"
