I guess you can't give them Benadryl and lock them in the car!

Just kidding! I think I would rather pay the higher price at the grocery store.

I used to do it all the time when the twins were babies and I had my really helpful kindergartner along... BUT I didn't do it when the babies were both infants-- just when they were able to sit up.

First, it makes a big difference WHEN you go. Be there when the doors open, if possible.

Do not ever ever ever ever go to Costco on a weekend with kids. Ever.

When I had 3 kids I needed contained in the cart, I used to grab 2 carts and drag one behind me while pushing with one hand the cart o' kids. (For you I'd put 2 in the front seats, baby in baby car seat in the cart). The reason to not wear the baby is that to pick up the big boxes of stuff can be a bit hard while you're wearing a baby. I sometimes wear the baby, but not when I know I have to deal with big boxes...

Make sure you have some cheerios or something for the older kids to munch on.

If you know exactly what you need, you can get all your stuff and through the line in 30 minutes, and that's not too bad. Just avoid lunch time...

Oh... If this was one of the Costcos out here, I *totally* agree. I don't go from after Thanksgiving until January when everyone has spent all their money...

Don't throw Costco under the bus based on the incredibly horrible metro-dc customer service. I am constantly shocked at how much the customer service sucks here.

Thanks for telling me now - this should be in the manual that comes with the kid. Or with your costco card.

              Peggy-

The Costco on 355/Watkins Mill Rd.

              Scary.

We don't have a costco here (surprise) but we do have a Sams that lets you order online and they get it all together for you to pick up at the exit. Can't beat that!

I agree - never, EVER go on the weekend. And if you can get the business membership, do so. Sams opens at 7 for business members and 10 for regular customers. I *never* go after 10. Too freaking painful.

I just *knew* it... There is something very very wrong with that Costco. Seriously Jenn- I love Costco but I have to psych myself out to go to this one!!!

                  It's shockingly bad...

I was in Costco today w/Quinn and Mattie (6.5 years and 6 months, respectively). I managed to buy:

                    a kitchen sink (literally)
                    a dog bed
                    a 4 pack of V8 Fusion
a family pack of mac 'n cheese
                    a family pack of Keifer
                    a slab of ribs
a bag of Tyson chicken tenders
a case of diet Dr. Pepper

                    .... I think that's it.

I did get a guy to help me out to the car -- in the pouring rain.

I made it successfully on a weekend with three kids. NOT the preferable way and I plan to never do it again but I did it.

                      This is what we did-
Arrive at 10am when store opens.
Load three kids including sleeping newborn into cart.
Buy a cart full (which isnt a full cart since there are three kids in it)
In the car at 1030 to nurse, change diaper and give big girls a snack
Back in costco at 11 for another full cart stopping to get big girls every sample
Stop for a hotdog and smoothie to go for big girls for lunch.
                      In the car at Noon.
                      Mom to three wild women.
