  • I'm thinkin' boy...

Alright...so I had a dream the other night....in it, I gave birth to this pefect little baby the size of my thumb....When I looked at it, it was a perfect baby boy.

    Anyone want to take bets????

That sounds pretty good, my wife would be jealous!
The last sono that we had showed that the baby's head was measuring at 39 weeks. That wouldn't be too bad, except that it was done at 32 weeks! They are guestimating the baby to be born around 10.5 lbs today, who knows what the next visit will bring?!

If you are dreaming about a boy, then it must be a happy healthy boy!

      boy

I'd be happy to have it be the size of my thumb too I've had big babies too...9.4, 8.15 1/2 and 8.11 I'm counting on the downward trend

Tell your wife not to stress out about it too much..I've had all kinds of ultrasounds guessing the weight with my pregnancies and they have never in the course of three pregnancies even been CLOSE! My middle child (8.15 1/2) was estimated at 5 1/2 to 6 pounds and my 8.11 was estimated at 10....you just won't know until it gets here! :P

I wish it were as easy as telling her to stop thinking about it. Unfortunately when she has gone through all the schooling, and seen the spectrum of small babies to huge babies in her work. She simply knows to much info about what can happen and for what reasons.
Thanks, and you are right, you never know tell you get there. I just don't want to have a crash c-section because this big-headed kid can't get out!

Last night she was swearing up and down that she could feel amniotic fuid bubbles when the baby was moving his head!
Not too much longer and you will be able to feel movements!

          amniotic fluid bubbles

I think you're right that the medical training gives them that 'worst case scenario' knowledge...It's the reason my huband has banned me from reading any of his medical books...I've got a tendency to be a bit of a hypochondriac...back that up with a few quotes and look out!

Is her OB planning on watching her more carefully or testing her for gestational diabetes or anything? Have they indicated any reason for her to be concerned?

I'm sure this must be so nerve-wracking for you...my husband hates the labor/delivery process only because he feels so helpless and unable to 'take charge' of things.

          How are YOU holding up?

Wouldn't that be heaven if we could deliver babies the size of our thumb, and still have them healthy? But then again, if I would have to keep the little tyke in a pouch like a kangaroo, or I would lose him/her if I set them down.

Just a few more weeks Kris and can confirm that dream! What does female/mother's intuition tell you?

I have no "feelings" either way as to what we are having this time. If I go by pregnacy compared to last- I think it's a boy. Then other times I think we are having a girl. Matt (dh) thinks we are having a boy, and really wants a boy to "even out the estrogen level in the house." With Emma, I thought she was a boy, until I laid on the table to get ready for the ultrasound- I looked at Matt and said "we are having a girl." Sure enough 15 min later, the tech said it was a girl.

I hope next Friday when I have my ultrasound that I get the feeling right before.

I'm thinking boy too. My husband and mom think it is another girl. I was wrong the first time thinking it was a boy so I am probably wrong again. We spent over an hour last night pouring over the name boook and making a list. Hubby axed my favorite boy's name and refuses to let me use it. I have 6 months to wear him down, unless of course it is a girl.
