Zachary got the results of his TAKS test yesterday. His teacher was worried about it (so were we) being that he had failed his practice test a few weeks before the exam. HOWEVER, he got an 88% so we are really pleased!!! 
I really feel for the kids having to take these exams. Zachary kept talking about how he wants to be in band in 4th grade and then he would add, "if I ever get into 4th grade!" They had to pass this reading test to be promoted to fourth grade and it really has been stressful. Part of me is glad they are doing this because I know that my kids are up to par for their grade level and there shouldn't be any surprises down the road. But at the same time ... it is a lot of stress to put on young children and some kids are just not good at taking tests. It doesn't necessarily demonstrate their abilities.
