Ok...I need some suggestions on how to get out of a rut here....I think that a lot of this is related to the fact that my first-trimester hormones are absolutely wiping me out...but I feel burn-out in every regard right now....I am not feeling patient with the kids and am not being as attentive as I 'should' be...and I have absolutely zero desire to clean the house...preferring instead to lay on the sofa with my 4 year old and watch Inspector Gadget 2 over and over again.....

    help......

Yeah, I agree with Luanne! I was going to reply yesterday, but couldn't really think of anything to say. There's nothing wrong with laying on the couch and enjoying tv with your kids--especially if you are tired and pregnant.

I also agree. You will get an energy surge soon enough -- right now, I think you should just do what your body is telling you. Inspector Gadget never hurt anyone.

I remember someone describing the three trimesters of pregnancy as Weary, Cheery and Dreary. You are in the weary stage!!!! relax and pamper yourself.

                Probably she should.

                We love you, Kris!

I didn't even know there was an Inspector Gadget part 2! At least your up and awake! During my first trimesters I had a hard time getting out of BED!!! You're amazing!

Will your husband spring for a housecleaner to come in and clean your house/do laundry 2x a month?

                    inspector gadget

We got inspector gadget 2 this weekend for the kids....I think I have it all memorized now I don't remember feeling this tired/grouchy in earlier pregnancies, but by the same token, I have three children, I'm older...and things are much busier now....but boy do I feel tired and psycho-grouchy!

Thanks for the lift guys...I just went in today for my first visit....a blood draw and history with the nurse practitioner......it made things much more 'real'......I still don't get to get in and see the ob for another 4 weeks.....and hopefully by that time I'll have some of my spunk back!

As to the whole maid/cleaning lady thing........if I even approached this with my husband he'd laugh his behind off. His mom did everything....back at that time in Germany, women actually went to a two year post-high school training program (and got a certification) in domestic issues....she went to college to learn to cook, clean, etc....and is of course great at it. Man...how do you compete with that...you guys should see our house...we have an entire room devoid of furniture that we devote to our dirty and clean clothes...piles of the dirties and baskets of the cleanies to fold and put away...I'm a mess!!!!

You are in good company!!!!! I use the clean clothes right out of the basket. I rarely fold or hang things up. I wear scrubs every day, and if I'm not in scrubs I'm in jeans.
