  • Alex's disappearing trick!

We got a real scare yesterday!!! I was cleaning the upstairs bathrooms (Yippee ) and I had the kids go into their rooms and clean with the promise of a trip to Barnes and Nobles. I went in to check on them about 10-15 mintues later and Alex (age 4 1/2) was nowhere to be found...We checked the whole house and outside. I got the van out of the garage and drove around the neighborhood and then parked it outside of the house in case we had to leave again to look for him. We were getting ready to call 911 and the neighbors started pitching in. 8O One of our neighbors yelled Alex's name really loud and he suddenly stood up from inside the back of the VAN! He had been hiding in the back where I couldn't see him..and where it is absolutley roasting, btw. I'm not sure if he hid back there and fell asleep or whether he was just playing a game.

I was so upset.....What if I had left the van out on the driveway to continue looking for him...he could have died! Even in the garage it gets too warm...

So I guess the take home message for me and everyone here is to lock your car doors even if they are parked in your garage.....

I'm glad you found him. Thanks for reminding me how important it is to always lock up your car - no matter where it is!

That's so scary--I'm glad to hear that he is safe! I would have never thought about them trying to hide in an automobile.

Geez, that's just a little bit scary, Kris. Good suggestion to always have the car doors locked.
