You just made me laugh outloud at work! I could not imagine anyone classifying you as either lazy or a bad mom (anyone that knows anything about you anyway).

I don't know, but for me, I HAD to supplement with formula, because I didn't have enough milk for dd.

Is pumping every two hours (every 4 at night) to stimulate milk production lazy...?

Please tell me it isn't. We've got to stop making moms feel guilty for the choices they make.

Someone get me one of these dolls!
I breastfed because I was lazy. That has absolutely NOTHING to do with you or anyone else's feeding choices. Heck, I couldn't get my firstborn to nurse. She got formula in a bottle. Just the way it is. Was it more work than nursing the 2nd and 3rd kids? Yes. It was for ME. That doesn't have to do with you or anyone else.

As for why I think the doll is dumb...why pay that much when a kid can pretend to breastfeed with any doll? That's why I think it's dumb. Just my opinion and, like my reasoning for the way I fed my babies, it has nothing to do with anyone else.

I am getting ripped a new one on facebook right now by some people who think that this doll is a magnet for sexual predators. I think this doll is silly, but not sick at all.

I completely do not understand the line of thought behind that sentiment. ??????

If a sexual predator wants to buy a breastfeeding doll or any other doll for that matter who is going to stop them? I don't see how that has on iota to do with an actual child having one - what is UP with people.

Do they think little girls are going to use this in public and therefore be stared at by sp's? Ok that I get but surely no mother is going to let their child with actual breasts do that???

Just one more example highlighting how some people in our society see breasts as nothing more than sexual.

I see nothing sexual about the doll.

As for breasts being only sexual?

Having sex = pregnancy = hungry baby = breastfeeding

LOL That's the best I can come up with for now.

In response to my saying that this isn't much different than a baby doll with a bottle,

I can't really rewrite these responses to make sense, so I will copy/paste them. lol is that bad?

"There are perverts out here that prey on pregnant woman, breastfeeding woman, and also little girls!!! So what are woman doing whn they buy this doll for there little girls? GIVING A PERVET HIS DREAM COME TRUE!! Its crazy. Let little girls keep their innocence. I can't imagine my 6yr old niece pretending to "breastfeed". It gives me chills for some reason. "

This is just an example of the 10+ people who didn't like what I said. lol! I guess they live in a different world than I do! This doll does stir up controversy, that's for sure!

There are perverts that get off on feet too... Doesn't mean I (or dd) will avoid wearing sandals when it is hot.

Exactly. My mom freaked out because I post pics of our kids on my FB page (pics are open to friends only) and I told her the same thing. You can't do anything to prevent pervs from having pervy thoughts.

I think people who think like that are the one's with the problems. WTH is wrong with people?

Oh for crying out loud! Some days I wish I could send these people to Germany. Want to see a grown woman stimulating her nipples to feed her baby ON A PUBLIC park bench?

OK, if there's one thing this thread has taught me, it's that kids who see breastfeeding are likely to imitate it, whether with a "regular" doll or with this special doll. Just because she can't imagine her neice pretending to breastfeed doesn't mean she doesn't, and a kid pretending to breastfeed isn't any more of a 'loss of innocence" than pretending to smoke or pretending to drive; it's kids immitating what they see adults doing. It doesn't mean they have any freaking clue about any of the social implications at that point, they're trying out the motions.
