  • The application is going in...

Well, after much conversation and soul-searching, we've decided to go ahead and send in the application for adoption. Then, of course we start the 'big' application process- interviews and such and after all of that is finshed- the waiting begins.

So, hopefully in 18 months or so, we can fly off to a foreign land (we weren't picky about which one!)to bring home whomever fate has decided to send our way! That's not too much longer than you guys going the 'regular way'! The good news is that my job is a contractual one and the contract is up in two years which could just work out perfectly. (As we're going to need some serious cash to do this! Guess what next's years bonus money will go for!)

We're both excited- and as neither one of us has ever had the "I must have my OWN child" thing, it really feels right. Besides, the thought of doing any kind of invasive procedure just to have a child is beyond unappealling. I like my parts unpunctured!!

So- I'll keep you all in the loop!

    Jenn

                  Congratulations! That sounds really exciting.
We have two couple friends who are adopting from China and Sierre Leone. It has been an amazing experience for them and I have loved hearing about their trip through this process. I can't way to hear your story along the way too.
Good luck to you in this new adventure!

                    Jenn,

Congratulations, Mommy! This is great news! You'll get a perfect child and bypass the weight gain, morning sickness, and hormonal craziness. This is fabulous news.

I should warn you that this is exactly how my brother and his wife got pregnant---by hiring an adoption attorney. Unless you want two at once, you might want to be careful. They are still going to adopt, but they put their application process on hold for two years until their newborn gets older. Just something to keep in mind.

That is so wonderful. I think it takes a special kind of person to become an adoptive parent. All the best to you and your husband during the process.
