Well, my oldest two went to school this morning, to third grade and to Kindergarten. The youngest screamed in protest when they got out of the car without him, but he has enjoyed having the house to himself this morning! I am reveling in the relative peace and quiet around here.

I am going to try to post a couple of pictures....

This is Joel, my new Kindergartener......

and this is Luke, my third grader. ARGHHHH! I don't know why his picture won't show up --- if I click on the address, I can see it, but I don't know why it isn't working like the one above --- I did them exactly the same. Any ideas?

    Oh well!

Yes, it's very quiet here too! My two oldest went to 3rd and 2nd grade this past Monday. My youngest asked a few times on the first day when we were "going to pick up my brother and sister." Yesterday he didn't ask at all and today he seems fine with it. I think he likes having mommy all to himself. I do miss the bustle and activity a bit but I do admit I don't miss breaking up all the fights they get into.

Those are some cute youngin's you got there, Sally!

Sally, ThuVan, Lunatic, and all you mommies and daddies of school agers:

My heart goes out to you. I can't even imagine the mixed emotions you must be going through.

We used to have a throbbing heart icon that I really miss for situations like these.

I get choked up just thinking about sending my daughter to kindergarten in two years -- and I send her to preschool a few days a week now (no tears, believe me!). Parenting can be so confusing.

        Cute kiddo, Sally!

          Sally,

the summer has gone by so fast, hasn't it? We just got our teacher assignments today, but school doesn't start until Sept. 8th due to construction on the middle school.....I have very mixed feelings about sending them back...I have really enjoyed our summer...and I didn't really go through the summer slump that I have in summers past.....

How did your boys do? Great pics, btw!!

            Jeez you guys-

I had such a funny reaction to taking my dog to "dog-ma, day care for dogs" on Monday. He was wagging his tail at the gate like "bye, mom I have new friends here, see you later". I came home and called Rick and told him we couldn't have kids because I couldn't take a child to school, if I was nearly in tears at the DOG.

Good luck to all of you.

            Jenn

Sally, your guys look so cute in their uniforms!
My oldest starts preschool T/Th and my youngest will be in Mother's Day Out the same days--both of them will be there from 9:30 to 2:30. I'm a little sad about how quickly they are growing up but two uninterrupted work days sounds awesome!

                  Did I just admit that?

Amy & Caroline both start college this week Amy's third year and Caroline's first. See a connection?

Yes, Luanne, I do see the connection! I have already told DH that if we are done having babies, I want a new kitten. (Of course, he says that is fine as long as one of our current cats dies first. )

That's cute Luanne! If I didn't have small children, I could see myself doing the same!
