FWIW, this week he's learning about pigs. I've got pig coloring pages with pink crayons and pink stickers lined up for quiet time tonight. Tomorrow, we'll probably do a glue-stick pig craft tomorrow - I'm thinking gluing triangle ears, circle snout, and curly ribbon tail to a paper plate or making a paper cup snout. If he was older, I'd have him cutting too. We'll probably do pig books and DVD's later in the week. It helps if I can get him interested in something so this week it's pigs. Next week, we'll pick something else.

I think 8/hr is reasonable for a HS-aged mother's helper. They aren't being left alone or managing all the kids by themselves. I got all that done in 2 hours. I hope you can Find someone. I pay 10/hr for four kids for a college student.
