  • Car Seat that alerts if child left in car

    Saw this today...about time!

    http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2012/...-is-in-danger/

I hope it serves its intended purpose well, though. I know this technology has been around for awhile, but no one was willing to take on the liability.

One of my worst fears is my child being left in a hot car, by me or anyone else. I'm a firm believer that it can happen to absolutely anyone.

Happen to an MD-couple whose daughter was enrolled at my daughters' daycare. She died in the parking lot. Of the daycare. It was a bizarre, horrible mix-up--one parent thought the other took her inside.

    Can happen to anyone. Anyone.

That's awesome!!! Ugh, DD is bursting at the seams in her infant carrier, but I'm tempted to wait until fall...

I agree it can happen to anyone. It's one of my big fears as a parent.

I looked into some alarm systems. They attach to your keys so if you get more than 15 feet away, it will beep and you deactivate it. It's pricey but probably worth it.

GMW, that is so sad. Did the parent leave the car at the day care all day?

For hours in the hot sun. I am not sure of all the details. I just know that the mother later became suicidal and the parents divorced. They were not criminally charged.
