  • Could I be pregnant

    Hey Guys,
I'm new around. As a recap, my dh is a 4th year med-student just starting the interview process for family med and taking Step 2 today. We've been married for just under a year and a half. I'm 24 (25 in March) and he's 27. Anyway, we have talked about having a baby but not for at least a year and half to two years. We wanted him to be settled into his residency etc... He's also said very clearly that he's just not ready for a baby right now although if I did get pregnant it wouldn't be "the end of the world". I'm on the pill and am really good about taking it on time etc... Anyway, over the past couple weeks I've been mild cramping, almost like before your period, my boobs are really heavy feeling, I feel slightly bloated, I'm exhausted and for the past week I've been nauseated on and off. I had a normal period last month and am due to get my period again next week. I probably wouldn't think too much of it except two people at work now have come to me and said, they kept thinking I was pregnant. Totally out of the blue. Anyway, I'm sure I just have myself freaked out but what do you all think? Part of it I guess is that I've really started to want a baby but I know dh just isn't ready and I don't want to do that to him.

I'm betting that you're not. I'm on the pill and get those same symptoms sometimes, and I've never been pregnant. You should do one of those pee-on-the-stick tests to put your mind at ease, though.

    Good luck! Keep us posted.

It wouldn't hurt to take a test to put your mind at ease, however it might be too soon to tell if you were. I would guess you probably aren't if you have been good about taking your pill, however there are people who have gotten pregnant while on the pill so it isn't unheard of. Best of luck to you with whatever the outcome may be!
