  • Cute idea for memory "book" for kids

I guess this would be for those of you with little ones. A friend of mine set up an email account for her dd, and sends emails to her of memories, pictures, video clips, etc. for her dd to read when she grows up. I thought it was a cute idea, because I'm terrible at keeping dd's baby/memory book updated.

Oh, that's a REALLY cute idea. Hell, you could probably do that with older kids, too.

That is cute! I use the My Kid Said app, but I haven't found a way to export it, and I would be so upset if I lost those!

Not a bad idea, however will the email provider still be around in 10-20 years? It's very likely you'll have to migrate that data elsewhere at some point, which may cause it to be lost or disorganized. That goes for any digital collection.

Maybe you should just manually transcribe it out so you don't lose it. I was using it when I nannied for my niece and nephew and lost the app along with all of my nephews first words.

I've been joting things down on notecards with the date and kid's age. Then I keep the notecards in a recipe box for each kid.

It's a google commercial. You can find it on YouTube.

We actually did get Dd's gmail account with her name. Who knows if it'll still be around but we saves it for her if it is!
