  • To the BTDT Parents of iMSN - Thank You!

I have "watched" so many of you go through big or little school issues with your kiddos. It has given me perspective and helped me realize that there will be little issues, medium issues and BIG issues at school and, like anything in parenting, I will need to choose my battles (I'm still trying to teach DH this lesson - he'd like to go to the principal and complain about everything). You have shown me that I will need to develop a thick skin and advocate from my children. You have also helped me realize that I need to think before I act and to save some little complaints so that I am not constantly complaining because there will be bigger issues. I love our school, and think they do a great job at educating kids, and there are still issues.

So many on iMSN without kids or younger kids have also helped by sharing their own perspectives, stories from when they were kids, or their other friends with kids. I thank you, too. Who would've thought that a support board for medical spouses could make me a better parent and would hold my hand through both the heartache and the joy. Thank you all!

And, on that sentimental note, I am SO ready for spring break! We're not going anywhere so you'll all be my sanity as I'm trying to make a nice starvation for my kiddos.

This made me giggle. I hope they have a great starvation!

And I hope it doesn't stay snowy the whole time, too. Nothing like second winter, eh?

Here here!! So much so, that I wish for a commune, just so I could learn more from everyone! I think Spring Break is going to be the best time for our kids to go visit Grandma and Granddad each year!

Agree!!! While some things I hear want me to keep my kids toddlers forever, I feel like I am much more prepared than a lot of parents!

Can I revive this thread? The honesty on this board has helped me understand that dark thoughts about our otherwise cherished children are part of the process. The guilt and self doubt would be overwhelming if you all hadn't shared the ultra private, ugly side of raising a human being.

Huge hugs and appreciation from my corner.
