UGHHH. The lady was great! Sweet, goes to our church, very professional, but I want to kill my husband and daughter!

DH was friendly, but just walked in, said hi, and wasn't around the rest of the interview. And of course I didn't want to drag him out in front of her.

My perfectly articulate and usually sweet daughter decided it was time to grunt and moan responses and throw herself at me on the couch repeatedly. Plus her hair wasn't combed and she looked like a ragamuffin. I wasn't trying to present a Stepford Wives picture, but 2 clean kids and a decent house (it wasn't a disaster but could have been better) would have been nice!

She has other interview for full time positions so I'm afraid she will go for those vs a part time position. I'm really bummed. I really liked her, but I feel like someone else will get her. The other job she mentioned is a two infant nannyshare though and we are 3 minutes away from her house, so maybe that will win out?

The phone interview for the next viable option just cancelled on me 10 minutes prior :/

    I'm feeling really bummed

It is a really annoying and maddening process. I cried multiple times. We even verbally hired someone and then she backed out. We had another woman who was amazing and basically did this as a service to others (she charged well below what she could have) - worked with special needs kids, medical families, etc. - she literally interviewed like five families and then it was like a contest to see who would get her.

In the end, we ended up with the right person for us but it was very upsetting and kind of ruined the end of maternity leave the first time around for me. We were also moving so I was fairly desperate and our house was a disaster. Could you meet in the park or at a coffee shop the first time?

Damnit, our #1 pick took another job.

I interviewed another girl that seems nice. I trust her with the kids, but I worry a little bit about reliability.

I just want to quit and watch them myself. 2 more years. 2 more years.

Ha, I say the same thing, because by then C will be old enough to actually babysit.

I think we found someone! She's exactly what I had in mind when I started this whole thing and I just had a really really good feeling when she came over today. She's a friend of family friends and has a really similar background to DH and I. (From a large conservative Catholic family) She seems really levelheaded and sweet. I hope it all works out!

Yay! Sorry I didn't text you back last night.

Does she have kids of her own?

No kids of her own, she's in her early 20s and a full time student. Hope she says yes, because my backup just texted me and said she took a job.
