I'm ready for February to be over! this month i broke my wrist, i had a birthday (mac did not have a present for me b/c he'd been taking care of me and the kids sice i broke my wrist, and didn't have time, etc.... he wouldn't have had time anyway b/c he does gifts last minute, this type of thing has happened before!), i totally screwed up valentine's day for my 8-yr-old (she was expecting me at her class party but i had dr appts, etc and sort of forgot ), i did not one fun thing for or with my mom who came to visit and didn't get to sightsee, unless you count going to Giant for groceries, mac has been grumpy, tired, stressed and studying every spare second, and last Saturday Isabel fell hard (i was not in the room ) and she broke her clavicle! Now there is brobably a child abuse file on us somewhere because apparently a broken clavicle is indicative of child abuse. (at least that's what the patient on the other side of the curtain said to his dad after he overheard the results of izzy's x-rays...)

anyone else ready to say goodbye to february? not my favorite month!

my wrist is coming along--- i don't think i'll need surgery/pins/screws, so that's a relief! i don't know how long i'll have the cast on-- i just got a long arm that goes almost up to my armpit! i'm ready to cut this thing off!

anyway, i'm not sure why i posted this whine in the parenting forum... i think i wanted to ask about the clavicle thing, but my train of thought these days is........ hopefully after feb it will get a little better!

AMEN to the end of February!!!
I don't think a month has gone this slow for me for the past 3 years!! Of course, it doesn't help that we are ANXIOUSLY awaiting March 18 to find out where we will be spending the rest of our training lives 8O . It has below freezing here for two solid months, so I couldn't get outside at all with the kids - dh had been doing his sub-I month, so has been gone basically 24-7, and when he is here, he is so grumpy that if I breath at the wrong time, he blows a gasget!
Although, I must say, I haven't had it quite as bad as your not-so-fun bone-breaking adventures . Are you feeling better? How long to you have to have the cast on? How is Isabell doing? I hope things warm up and get better for you!

I have worked in the ER for 12 years and never seen a clavicle fracture as a cause for calling in child services (unless thre are alot of other injuries to go with it) . If they had called, you would have been met in the er by them and questioned, etc before being allowed to leave. Don't worry, just get better.

My nurse came back from taking her 4 year old to the pediatrician- she was freaking out because during the exam, the doc asked Eric how he had bruised his leg and he said, "my mommy beats me." She was nearly hysterical= they had a long talk in the car about telling stories and how Mom's job was taking care of other people and she needed to be able to keep her license!

jenn- my oldest daughter said something similar to a teacher when she was about 5... i don't know where they come up with this stuff!!

Izzy is doing great-- she is still banned from the playground which is a shame because today is such a beautiful day-- perfect for the playground. i can't believe how resilient kids are! it makes me feel like such a baby!
