  • Teeth...

They've arrived!!! Last week he started biting when he was nursing and Friday the first tooth arrived...today...the second broke through. 8O He just doesn't understand though not to bite and I'm not sure of what to do to stop it....I clamps down and won't let up....

    Ouch!

Already?--it seems like you just had him a month or two ago!!! I heard to over-exaggerate the ouch and pull them away to get them to stop doing that. But I suppose if they've got a firm grip with their little teeth the last thing you probably want to do is pull him off!

      Those little chompers hurt!!
Bryn got her first teeth around 5 months. Earlier than I expected! Anyway, when she would bite I would say "ouch!" (sometimes I did it with no effort at all -- it hurt) and unlatch her. She figured it out pretty quickly.

One time when she surprised me and it really hurt, I said "ouch" a little more sharply than I probably needed to. She got that chin-quivering, lip-trembling look....and cried! I felt so bad. But she didn't bite much after that.
