  • Top reason to homeschool

Alright....we had a GREAT spring break last week. We slept in until 9am 8) , and lounged around and played outside (the weather was beautiful). We did the german program every day and generally speaking got along great!!!

Then...BAM....getting up again at 6.20am to get to the bus top by 7.13 to start school by 7.45.

HELLO...Who can concentrate at 7.45 am????

Really..this is reason #1 for me to consider homeschooling

I know I'd be a terrible homeschool mom because I'm not organized enough, but if it would mean I could sleep in until 9....I might consider it

Kris, really, you'd find MOST homeschooling moms are relatively normal in the organization department (in other words, they're like you and I).

I have to admit that I really do enjoy the fact that I am pretty much beholden to no one schedule-wise. Jon has to be in Washington D.C. for six weeks this fall and I like the fact that the kids and I can just pick up and go with him. There are soooo many fun and educational experiences there! I am very excited! The only problem we are encountering is that, as the kids get older, they DO have some classes I have to work around (such as ballet, basketball, and piano). But, I find keeping up with that stuff is much less rigid than my life would be if I wasn't homeschooling.

If you ever get serious about it I would suggest you go to http://www.nhen.org to do more research on the subject.

I agree, the ability to set your own schedule is a very cool thing about homeschooling. I think I probably would have done it if we would have been assigned overseas.
