How are you doing, Mama? It won't be long now, right? We are going out of town on Saturday for two weeks, but you can bet I am going to be checking in to hear of your little girl's safe arrival.

    Take care!

Thanks for asking! We are getting so excited. It will be one of the two most important days of our life. DH tries to play cool, but he has left frantic calls asking "You haven't been at your desk for awhile...are you o.k.?" Very cute.

I can't believe that she is almost here. I hope that my mom makes it in time for her arrival. I've had regular contractions but they are 20 minutes apart and sputter out. She is still sitting pretty high, I haven't dialated at all yet, and my cervix is still pretty thick. (TMI? I've given birth so my perception of polite social conversation is fairly skewed.)

Fluffhead, if you are out there, what is going on with your wife and new baby?

38 week appointment today: 1 centimeter. little effacement (sp?). Head very high. But, I am having what they referred to as "teeny-weeny" contractions regularly from 10 to 15 minutes apart.

Hey, they don't feel "teeny-weeny" to me...they keep me up at night. Maybe I just feel pain more acutely than other women. I'm ready for an epidural now...just in case I feel pain.

                (Wimpus!)

I was talking to some other women who are also on their second pregnancies yesterday, and we were talking about how everything seems to be more uncomfortable and hurts more the second time around. One of the girls said that her doctor told her that after your body has gone through the first pregnancy, it is like a "used car" and can't do it again with as much "ease" (is there such a thing as going through ANY pregnancy with EASE??!) as the first time...

We all had a good laugh, and realized how true that was, everything just seems to dropp, hurt, joggle, and otherwise cause uncomfort more with each new pregnancy .

I think the term "teeny-weeny" contractions is an oxymoron. There is NO SUCH THING as a "teeny-weeny" contraction! Good luck on getting the baby here! I'll send "not-so-teeny-weeny-yet-not-TOO-painful-contraction" vibes your way . Take care!
