Any peds spouses or parents of infants have any samples or coupons for Similac with Iron? I have been supplementing BF with a bottle or two of formula each week and would appreciate any freebies that you all may have lying about. I'd be more than happy to compensate you for the postage. Thanks!

    Kelly -

Go to their website and sign up - they will send you some really good coupons. I use Nestle Good Start with DHA/ARA and they sent me coupons for free cans once a month.

Can I admit that I sold my Similac coupons on eBay? Got $25! I haven't gotten anything from either company since I moved, so I don't have anything to send you. But definitely hit those websites.

Ask and you shall receive! On it's way to you. Just got one today. I think I owe you one, though.

Sorry we used Enfamil! Ross is cracking down on samples! Speaking of formula.... I have been meaning to post this and now is the perfect time. Ella had her 12 month check up this week. She is in the 95 percentile for height! She has been running 60-75 this whole year. Anyway, our ped told me that the AAP committee just decided that babies should be receiving formula now until age two because many toddlers have a low intake of meat and therefore result in low iron levels. The formula helps the iron levels stay high. No one else I have talked to has heard of this recommendation. Interesting, huh?

I didn't have the heart to tell our ped that we already switched to cows milk, but did mention that Ella eats lots of meat.

Thanks everyone. BTW, Nellie, I have done so little for you it is pathetic. BUT when you and Eric run the Twin Cities Marathon next fall with me, you can stay in our lower level guest bedroom.

Jennifer...Ella got too big too fast. This breaks my heart when I think about my little girl. RE: formula thing. I'm thinking about BF for longer than a year this time. I wonder if they include BF in this extended formula recommendation. I supplement once or twice a week with formula because 1) I have to have some me time...(selfish I know) and 2) my son was borderline anemic the entire time I breast fed him.

          Anyhow...thanks everyone.
