  • Nursing - Immunity Question

On the off chance that somebody (or somebody's spouse) knows the answer to this...
Wife got a flu shot, and is still nursing. Does (3 m.o.) infant have flu immunity?
(I can't find a shot, and don't want to bring it home to the infant, who is the only other unimmunized family member)
Enabler of DW and 5 kids

You might be able to find an answer at:

I don't know if the 3 month old has flu immunity, but the vaccine isn't recommended until 6 months.

Other vaccines that adults receive do not guarantee immunity to the infant so I would think that would apply to the flu vaccine as well. I worked as a breastfeeding educator, but to be honest this question never came up! I will do some research and try to get back to you. Remember, breastfeeding itself is a great source of immunity for your infants. I would recommend following the recommended schedule for vaccines and relax.
