Sorry to compete, Kris.
We just had our 4 month check up this morning. My "little" boy is 23 lb, and 28 inches. Needless to say, I started solid food today. Hopefully this will sit in his stomach long enough for him to be able to sleep longer than 2 hours at a clip, and for me to get some much needed shuteye (and to stop single-handedly supporting the coffee bean industry of a small latin american country).

:thud: Normally, those numbers would mean nothing to me, but now that I finally have a kid...WOW, that is a big boy!!!! And he really eats every two hours?! How do you do it, coffee not withstanding?

Congrats on the healthy check-up! How did he like his first taste of food?

Holy crap, Fluff, that is a BIG four month old! And this is coming from someone who has three good-sized boys!

I hope the solids keep him satisfied for longer so you can get some sleep....that would be the greatest Christmas present you could get right now, I bet.

Fluff, I missed the part about the "4 month check up" the first time I read your post and was picturing a 1 year old. Then I reread the post and realized he's 4 months! I hope you can catch up on your sleep soon!

He's a very sweet boy, though. He just likes his food
He took to rice cereal quite nicely, gobbled it up and threw it up about an hour later.
We'll try again tomorrow.
He's in 12 month clothes already, and I don't know how long the carseat is going to last! His swing and bouncy seat are already showing signs of giving up the ghost.
And my wife has just stopped nursing, so we're going to support the local stop and shop's economy by buying formula in bulk. Hey does costco have formula, and is it cheaper? Maybe it would be worth getting a membership.

Costco does have formula! So does Sams in big large containers! No need for you to lift weights! My 14 month old just passed the 20lb mark. The nurse at the peds office said. Well, now you can turn her seat around to face forward. Opps. Did that months ago.

I can't imagine why she would stop Wow, what a great little "big" guy! He outweighs my almost 15 month old! She's wavering at 20 pounds...the ped said, "Ok,you can get her a new car seat and face the front..she's close enough"

Most nights he wakes up 3 times. I'm hoping the solid food will help. Once he grows accustomed to it, I hope we can pack him full of the goop before bedtime ....
Last night my almost 3YO was up as well, so I'm a walking zombie today - and I had to tutor trigonometry today, which I haven't seen in 20+ years. I think it went OK.

The nice thing with the baby now is that he eats and goes right back to sleep at night. We're putting him in a disposable diaper at night, so we don't have to change him and wake him up. (until I was convinced to do this, we had to change him several times a night, and then walk around the den for 45 minutes to get him back to sleep - compromising my values has paid off 8) )

Both my sons were around that size at 4 months.

Chances are he will stay that weight for a long time. Both of mine got big and then just grew in length for a good 6 months. Plus, once they get mobile they slim down.

It was funny, DS1 was wearing 18 mo sizes at 9 months(for girth), and stayed in them until he was 18months.

Wow!!! My 10 month old baby is about 23 lbs. And my 5 year old daughter is still only 30 lbs. I hope you are finally getting some sleep Fluffhead!!!
