This hits close to home for us too. It is hard to feel comfortable leaving your kids alone with someone else....then add 'oh yeah, and the youngest has a seizure disorder, so here is where we keep the Diastat, should you need it and you insert it the rectum and if you need to just call 9-1-1 and then call us'

Needless to say, we haven't done much on the "couple" front in awhile.

      Matt,

Big hugs to you and Gretchen. I wish that I lived nearby. I'd take the kids when Sean was home to let you all go out. Hopefully, there is a solution out there for you.

        Hey matt-

In all seriousness, make friends with people in my field. Seizures are a daily occurence for us and nothing fazes us. if only you guys were in DC.

Matt--Let me reiterate what Luanne said, too...nursing students are great with kids who have health concerns. They are very conscientious...

Chris....now I'm not a parent yet, so I can't offer too much advice other than to check with your husband's partners to see if they have anyone they can recommend. My husband's group has a list of about 8-10 sitters (mostly high school and college) that they use. Trading off with other med spouses is a good idea too, but most of my husband's partners have at least 3-4 children each who are close in age and I'm just not sure if I can handle them AND my own baby...heck, I'm not even sure if I can handle JUST my own baby!
