Good Luck! Hope it all works out. I know first hand what a mess Russian beaurocracy can be.

wow. I came in at the tail end, your ticker had "x #of days until Nikolai comes off the registry ..."

You're one tough chica! That little boy is lucky to have you.

Do you know anything about his biological relatives?

His bio parents are: a blank line in the Dad section, although his middle name was Leonidiovich, which usually means that he's "leonid's son" but we don't know who named him. for all we know, the nurse at the NICU had a dad name Leonid.

The birth mother- we have her name and that she supposedly has two older children (sex and ages unknown) and that she was a hair dresser. She also had terminated other pregnancies so I don't know why she decided to follow through with this one. (not that I'm complaining, just curious) She stated in her reasons for giving him up that she couldn't afford to raise him as a single mother on a hairdresser (in Russia) income.

The Social Worker, when doing her due diligence discovered that both of his bio grandparents were deceased and that mom/sibs were not where they said they lived and were nowhere to be found.
