I recently bought a memebership to "Science City" which is a science-based (duh) kids museum here in KC. It was only $95, and one visit for the boys & I was $15 (soon to be $22.50 when Quinn turns 3), so I knew it was worthwhile money-wise, but today I experienced an unexpected perk.
I'd put Quinn in a time out b/c he was throwing parts of an exhibit just 1/2 an hour into our trip, and he let loose one of his blood curdling screams (SueC can verify - they're amazing). I told him if he screamed again we were leaving, he did and we left. If I'd had to pay the entry fee, I would have given him 72 chances to avoid "wasting" the $, and no lesson would be learned (except that mommy doesn't mean it). Instead, we packed up, headed out, and the whole way out of the building Quinn was trailing behind us saying "I'm sorry guys. Why I yell?"
Hopefully next time I can remind him of this and MAYBE he'll learn.
