Okay... does everyone else have problems getting a family picture taken? We have put it off for a long time either because of time, money or wanting to be thinner etc. Well, Russ had to turn in a picture for his school yearbook and we had no family picture to put in so... we decided it was about time to get our family picture done. The problem... Dallin fell a week ago and he had a laceration on his forehead that we were able to steri strip in place. After a week I figured we could get away with it We took the steri strips off and lo and behold was this LOVELY purplish green bruise the size of a silver dollar! .
I figured it was a good thing that the place we were going to used computers and I thought they could cover it up. It is a good thing too. After agonizing about what clothes to wear, getting all the kids clean and spiffy looking we had to wait for Russ to get home from work. Then we loaded everyone into our van and were on our way. Dallin was holding a heavy toy drill (anything to keep him happy so we would have no puffy eyes!) and he got mad and threw the drill. It hit Jacob smack in the nose!!!! By the time we got out at the photo studio and got in the light to assess the damage .... Jacob's nose was bright red and he had a nice scrape down the side of his nose! After all this effort, we were not to be dissuaded! We took the pictures anyway and the photographer spent a lot of time trying to cover up the bruises and owies of my poor kids!!! The pictures turned out okay, not my favorite of me but I hate pictures of me. But ... I don't think I will ever be able to look at the pictures without thinking about the drill flying into Jacob's nose or all the hard work it took to get us there. Whew... No wonder we haven't taken more family pictures!
I think I will laugh every time I look at the pictures!
