Family Fun Night at the School!

This is kind of neat...our kid's school has been implementing some winter family activities..a couple of weeks ago it was roller-skating and last night they had a family night at the school. Each room had a different game to play: legos, chutes and ladders, etc...and there was pizza to eat in the cafeteria. The kids were sooo excited to have us eat in the cafeteria and sit in their desks...it was really fun!

This IS a really neat idea. Although most of elementary school is a blur, I distinctly remember the school programs where our relatives came into our little world and joined us. It was so cool to have my mom come meet me for lunch or grandma come watch my play. As a collateral benefit to these programs, the entire community becomes more interested in the school, which is always a good thing.

This wasn't as exciting for the grown-ups, I think...but it was a blast for all of the kids that I saw. They all seemed to be so proud to show their parents around. They had a wide variety of board games to play, but it was a little too akward with the little one....we ended up just walking through the school, painting their faces, eating pizza and heading home...but it was neat.
