  • Pea Ball

Back when I knew everything about parenting I developed a game of pea ball to get Andrew to eat veggies....it was a raging success and I've since dumped my peaball advice via mommy drive-by to any mom struggling with veggie issues...including...Kelly :>

Fast Forward.....Aidan loves peaball...only...he won't play it properly. Instead of popping the peas into his mouth, he considers it much more entertaining to try and pop the peas into everyone else's mouths....resulting in zinging peas. Today takes the cake though.....he has adopted Molly as his new peaball 'opponent'. There are peas all OVER my kitchen.

    Kris, what exactly is peaball?

I misread the subject line and thought it was a potty-training trick.

You've piqued my interest, as a mother of 3 who don't so much like their veggies.

Too Funny! I used to try and come up with diff. games to try and get andrew to eat his veggies...and I'd attempt to capitalize on the 'shape' of the veggie....and his interests. We had 'bullets' (corn) 'guns' (green beans) ...I know, I know...I'm not supposed to be promoting violence, but when you get desperate you'll do anything to get them to put something healthy in their mouths. With the peas it was their 'ball-like' shape. So we had a couple variations of pea-ball...which included trying to see how many you could spear onto your fork ( a good little counting thing) and then eat at one time or....picking one up with your finger ( I know...the queen of England better not show up at my house anytime soon!) and tossing it into your open mouth....and then going "Aaaahhhhhhh" once you eat it.

Aidan isn't quite there with his spearing abilities...so....we tried the tossing it into the open mouth thing...apparently, he's quite good at THROWING th e peas....and the "aaaaaahhh" thing...he can do perfectly. It's just the whole popping it into his OWN mouth that he doesn't seem to get just yet. Hopefully, he'll forget that I taught him this little 'game'. If not, I know Kelly will get the last laugh!

this is CLEARLY the result of poor parenting.... :rofl

I would heartily enjoy this except your stories of preadolescent angst scare me into creating bad karma for myself.
