Never heard of it, but if it's that happy, I'll try some.

Let me know what you think of it, we've had some major diaper rash over here as well. Poor little Mitchell has been in a world of pain. I've been going back and forth between using Desitin, letting him airdry (last night he played for about 10 minutes buck naked right on top of the cold air return, which was a huge gamble), and using the talc free powder, which he loves. It's looking a little better, but he has been bleeding after some particularly nasty diapers.

I am so sorry you are going through this. While coping with all of the poo laundry, you are trying to comfort a little one who must just feel like WTF!

I always feel so horrible in this situation.

I wish you a happy hiney!

There was some magic Dr. Smith's ointment that I could only find in south Texas that worked miracles in the quest for a happy hiney. I still have some although I don't know who I am planning to put it on!

So sorry for you and your little one!

Never used it. Here's the recipe from my goddess pediatrician in Cleveland for the cure-all diaper lotion (tested many times and works like a charm):

Equal parts Aquaphor, Desitin (the old-fashioned stuff in the white tube - not "creamy"), and Mylanta. Mix the mylanta into the desitn very slowly and thouroughly (it takes awhile), then mix in the mylanta. It works! I swear! Usually one, maybe 2 applications.

I always store it in one of those rinse / resuse containers b/c you can't really wash it off of plastic ... ever.

Oh, yeah.....what jennp said! Our last pediatrician in TX told us about that mixture, and it did work.

Lotrimin does the trick for us. She gets a yeast rash when she gets loose diapers.

We have the same recipe from the Cleveland peds. The NICU made us a huge tub of it when Avery was an infant and we are still using it. It works wonders.

What is the powder from Whole Foods? You've got me curious.

That Aquaphor and Desitin goo sounds like good stuff.

I hope all the hineys are happy in your house very soon!

No, don't call. It just made me curious.

So glad your kiddo has a happier hiney!

Interesting... carafate is also used in the tx of stomach ulcers.
