If my daughter's personality is anything like her physical development, we will have a monster on our hands. She cut her first three teeth in the last five days. Two more are on the horizon. I can tell because she takes anything she can fit in her mouth and rubs her top gums on it or shakes her head so her gums move on the surface of the pacifier.

I feel bad for her because all the teeth popping through must be painful. She is taking it pretty well with only little bouts of crankiness. I went to the dentist today and he said I need to be wiping her teeth off everyday. I didn't think I would have to do this so early. Why can't my baby stay small?

It goes by so quickly, doesn't it! Andrew cut his teeth early too. Fortunately, my other two were a bit slower on that front Just think though..soon she'll be able to eat yummy things like...mashed carrots and peas!

Embrace every minute of it! The first year just flies by so fast!

Teeth cutting is a sad thing and a fun thing, I guess. I always like that little "bulldog" action (ie biting down as hard as they can and seeming to shake whatever their biting). It is too cute! At the same time it means they are getting bigger . Watch out for those teeth if you are nursing!!! Sometimes YOU might get mistaken for a teething ring!!! OUCH

Something we used for our teething babies was frozen pretzels - not the small ones - the big, soft ones you get in the freezer section of the store. They are hard, cold, and dissolve as the baby gums them to death.

Jennifer, reading your posts on your child and motherhood has made me soooo wistful for when my oldest was a baby. I think I had many of your same thoughts and feelings! I really miss that "new mommy" period of my life....
