  • At what age a sleepover?

Finny and her friend have been bugging us moms about a sleepover. I don't know that it is a good idea to start this at the age of 6!!!! When did you guys start having sleepovers, and when did you let your kids (if you've gotten that far). I wouldn't mind having a child over here, but there is no WAY that I'd send my little monster off just yet....I wouldn't sleep all night!

      Really, Luanne? Oh my gosh...I think I was 12 before I was allowed on a sleepover...definately the 6th grade...no wait..maybe the 5th...

Kris- Actually there is an article in the May issue of Parent's Magazine talking about the 'right' age for kids to do things. They list a sleep over is good starting from ages 6 to 8. I think it should be up to individual families, but your question reminded me of this article.

I let my son go on his first sleepover at 8. Not before. I don't think he was ready and neither was I! I regret it a little bit now because now he is constantly bugging me to have a sleepover. I think I would have done it differently and waited much longer!
