you can get earrings with screw-on backs....that might help them last a little longer....you might have to ask around the jewelry shops for them though....sometimes they are harder to find.

Can't you get little rubber pieces that you stick on the end of the post as well? I remember having those. I also had the kind that sort of locked into place. The backing would kind of click onto the post. Those were always difficult for me to remove.

That's what I was going to suggest. But just make sure that the post part is not too thick. The only pair of screw-ons I have are much thicker than other studs. The other suggestion is to look for earrings with a European closure. There are several types and they're hard to discribe but a jeweler should know they are. Plus if you ever come to NYC, I can take you to 47th to get some.

When did you pierce your child's ears? My baby is almost 4 months and family members keep asking me when I am going to do it. The truth is that I don't know what would be the best time to do it. Did you go to one of those places at the mall?
