  • Tales of destruction

I have been able to browse only for the last few days thanks to ds (20 mo old). He pushed the stepstool over to the table and pulled about 2 dozen keys off of the keyboard. I found most of the keys and the pieces that go underneath to make them work, but I am still missing the hyphen and a couple of plastic parts.

    Anyone else have some stories?

    Broad tip sharpie meets monitor
    colored pencils meets wall
    pen meets wall
purple crayon meets 3 day old television
    knobless stereo
every single metal mixing bowl, pot and pan out of cupboard
every single babywipe out of container
every book off bookshelf from 3' down
    eyeglasses broken at the bridge
    eyeglasses broken at the hinge
    cds used as plates
every petal off of vase of flowers
    every picture off wall

My dog is WAY more destrictive than my child.

So, I'll share Petey's woes, instead:

3 "heavy" ob tampons ingested- with the accompanying 1200 endoscopy (although my friend who has had several endos done said that his was way cheaper than hers so she's going to go to Pete's vet next time)

1 foam knee pad for gardening- again, one overnight trip to the doggie er for both poisoning and puking

4 different slippers, as in one from 4 different pairs.

      Several bed and throw pillows.

Dental floss, to the point that we had to get a trash can with a lid- although he can still get the lid off, so now we have to make sure the bathroom door is always shut.

Chocolate- half a bar of bittersweet (he left the other five so I guess it wasn't all that he though it was going to be)
One set of chocolate fondue chocolates- but he was busted at the point where he had the Christmas wrapping paper off, but the chocolate was still sealed in the box.
(we figured out way back in his puppyhood how much chocolate would kill him, and he hasn't hit the mark yet...)

and of course, there was the whole box of enzymes that keep the grass green- which he then puked up in Rick's car, wheich Rick though he had cleaned but then he left the roof open and it rained, and then it was 90 degrees in DC in the summer, and things, well, let's just say they cooked. But USAA came through when I called and asked if they covered moldy dog ... But Rick always smelled the smell and that's partly why he got rid of his car when I was on a business trip.

So, Nikolai? He's tame in comparison

Mortar (of mortar and pestle set) taken to the t.v. screen while I showered

That's my favorite - there are LOTS more. I've got to take the boys to school.

James is pretty tame...the worst and only would be my flip cell phone that he managed to snap in half.

Mostly Orville, Wilbur (dogs) and James work as a destruction team. James pulls things from on high and hands them to the dogs who then proceed to shred.

We did have a week where James and the dogs destroyed about $1000 worth of electronics.

James figured out how to eject the Xbox drive and then would put his arm through the hole in the tray...like he was playing hookup tag with the xbox. The xbox would no longer read games.

I bought a handheld scanner while doing dissertation research...About the size of a highlighter...James took that off of the desk and handed it to the dogs. They ate it.

My cell phone was that week.

That has been about it, other than multiple slippers, crayons, colored pencils and stuffed animals (James to the dogs).
