This lady is really, really nice.....but has no control over her kid. I have watched him have tantrums and HIT HER, in front of me and several other moms. She is very involved with him and even (last summer) organized all the boys in the cul de sac into two basketball teams, and made jerseys for them.....she got mens t-shirts, appliqued a mascot on each one (she used dragons and lightning bolts) and stenciled each kid's last name on the back of the shirt and had them color it in with markers.....she even had each of the shirts stretched over cardboard to make it easier to color in the letters. She also hosted an ice cream sundae party in her back yard. I basically say (to my older two) go outside and stay there for at least an hour, and then I do my thing and they do theirs. Yes, I am a slacker mom. I do feel sorry for this gal, though, because she has NO control over that little boy, yet she was literally outside with him from morning until dusk every day last summer. I was kind of glad when it got colder and the boys weren't together as much!

Good grief! (I tried to come up with a Tracy-ism but am not that talented). I can't believe she

      A) Hid in the shrubs to begin with
      B) Allowed her child to see her go hide in the shrubs and send him to confront the adult
      C) Jumped out of the shrubs - showing herself to be rather nutty IMO.

All of the activites she organizes sound great for all of the OTHER kids though. I don't want to get too judgemental lest karma rear it's ugly head. I hope I never get desperate enough to hide in my neighbor's shrubs.

OM...GAWD, Sally, I have never heard anything so freaky ever....and I thought I had neighbor issues. This is outrageous.

Good for you for being honest with the little boy.

I can't BELIEVE the woman hid behind the bushes...I just can't get over that!

Ok, so no one has hid in our bushes....yet. That behavior is pretty similar to the nieghborhood but language has been less of a problem. Like Jenn said, I don't know what is stranger that she did it or popped out.

We do have caller ID and I make sure that I am the one to answer instead of letting Bryn answer. The kid really is a stalker....if they drive by she will scope out the house to see if we are home. Then call. :! She must really, really love us!
