Does anyone else hate the fundraising drives? Aidan was enjoying Clifford the Red Dog and *bam*...10 minutes of 'send us your money...only .16cents a day". We have had to turn it off all week because he just melts down.

I donate....but I wish that they would just send something out or advertise at a different time.

They are annoying, aren't they? Our radio station tried to do their fundraising online only one time and it didn't work very well at all. I guess in your face stuff works better.

I hate it too. In Boston, one guy was completely obnoxious....but I've come to appreciate his approach. He would basically hold the scheduled programming "hostage" until he got his target dollar figure. Now that I actually have some cash, I'd probably send him the *&^% donation to get back to the show - even on top of the money I already give. They ended the fund drive hourly when they hit the goal and also ended the whole thing entirely when they got the funding they'd projected. Crass, yes. But so effective.

We're having our NPR fundraiser here and it's driving me wacky. The interviews continue on while they are asking for money. They rejoin the show in progress after their begging is complete. I can't follow any of the shows so I've just turned it off. Some editing or added broadcasting would really help.

That drives me crazy how they go back mid-interview.

So far, I haven't noticed the drives during the kids shows.

We're on a 101 Dalmations and Baby Einsten kick here, so I haven't seen PBS kids for a couple weeks. :!

I just turn the television off if they start demanding money. I already resent that my tax dollars go towards what amount to complete and utter nonsense and this just gives me an excuse to unhook my kids from their mental junk food for a bit.

Our PBS station doesn't interrupt the kids shoes I believe, but the NPR station I listen to has a fundraising drive that seems to go on for days every year.
BTW, does your PBS station play "Big Big World"? DH and I think it's a cute show, but the sloth sounds like a stoner to us.

I have seen the sloth and the sloth frightens the child.
