  • Trying not to laugh

My little darling just came home from school with a snotty attitude and being a little demanding about playtime with a friend. I said....nope, not when you talk to me like that. This has come up a few times this week so it was time to do something about it.

She was upset. She made herself a snack plate and a glass of water. I asked if she was having a picnic. No.....she was "going to go rest in her room. Actually, I'm planning to spend the weekend there." Ok.

Then, tersely, "If you would please bring my dinner to my room, that would be great."

I wonder how long she will stick to it.

OK Nellie, that made me laugh out loud! Just exactly who does she think she'll be punishing by spending the weekend in her room?? :>

OMG- I can't imagine how much fun you'll be having at fifteen rather than five.

This is a definitely to be repeated to all friends and family over time story.

She decided to come out for dinner but wanted to have dessert in her room. Then it was just plans for breakfast in her room.

While she was in there, she made up a camping-style bed on the floor. Running away with all the comforts of home? She tried to sleep there for about 5 minutes before moving to her bed. Then completely forgot about it all when she woke up.

I absolutely love this story, and I could definitely see my daughter behaving similarly in the future! Do you suppose when they are teens we really will hope they won't come out? .....What do you think, Luanne?

Marla, when they are teens there is an unbelievable urge to put them in thier rooms and lock them in for a few years!!!
