Uggg! My poor ds, he has it so BAD. All over his face, tummy, legs and hands. I just got back from the ped. He is now on prednisone for two weeks. Last night he couldnt sleep, so we let him stay up with us until about 11pm....he could be such a night owl....just like his mama. Got to bed late, sleep all day. Too bad he still got up at 6am.

Dh and ds always get it.....thankfully the girls and I have no problem with it.

The ped says that she has seen some bad cases this yr. Great.

    **Sigh**

When I saw my Room-mate from college for her birthday, she shared the results of her pulling out the English Ivy. Of course it also had poison ivy and she thought that she was immune after years of camping, etc. (she had never had it before)

It ended up from her ears to her toes. Her breasts, stomach and inner thighs were so bad that 1) she (the newlywed) could do nothing except take prednisone and sleep and 2) she couldn't even swim because the sores on her thighs kept opening up.

It's awful and I'm sending healing and healthy thoughts your way.

Try Aveeno Oatmeal baths, they helped us when Nikolai had mystery bumps.

Burts Bees makes a Poison Ivy soap. Don't know if it would help. Hope it heals up quickly.

thanks for the advice and well wishes. the rash has really gone down. the stinkin' prednisone however has really caused an uproar in this house. the first four days he was supposed to be on two teaspoons. no way was i torturing us with the behavior that the med causes for 4 days. we started to taper him sooner.....behavior is much improved. holy cow....sometimes i wonder if ADD is a real dx. after having ds bouncing off the walls, screaming, jumping, punching, hitting and not listening, and hardly sleeping....i now have MAJOR sympathy for those who may have a hyper kiddo. im happy to say my sweet, loving, affectionate listening ds is back. that was a rough couple days.
