DS #2 turned 8 today! He has always been such a sweet and laid back boy......my oasis of relief between his two very intense brothers! He has a great sense of humor and is very sensitive and eager to help others when he can. He often gets lost in the chaos around here, especially because his mother and other two brothers are very verbal creatures, while he is a man of action, rather than words, like his dad. He is quite the sharp dresser and is very particular about what he wears. And, saving the best for last, he has always been the most cuddly of my boys, and although I know that won't last forever, he snuggled on my lap for a while today.
He got some books, several t-shirts, a soccer goal, some money and gift cards, a birdhouse to build, and a macrame-looking necklace (labeled "boy necklace", which cracked me up) from Target. His birthday party is tomorrow, so he will get more stuff then, too.
He picked a "Honey-Bun Cake" from the Cake Mix Doctor cookbook (which is a great cookbook, imo) and it was really yummy......more like a coffee cake than a regular birthday cake, but hey......all the more reason to have a piece for breakfast tomorrow, right?
