I actually got applause for the breakfast I served today! I made blueberry pancakes (do you see a theme?) with smiley faces & the boys spontaneously applauded when they saw them! :star:

I continued cooking as the boys were eating, and when I said "Uh oh" b/c a blueberry came out during the flip, Jacob said "That's okay Mom. That happens sometimes."

I'm posting this b/c I'll need to remember it later today when things seem to be falling apart.

I love reading about your boys. They seem so sweet and intelligent. I love your ambition to make blueberry pancakes this morning.

Hijack...My poor kids have been watching TV all morning and ate pop-tarts in the living room which I don't normally allow. I couldn't fall asleep until 3 am and both kids were up between then and 5 am and DH got up at 7am for work. He is on Q2 call for the holiday. DH decided to invite friends over all day tomorrow and we leave for vacation in two days. I have so much to do. I just want to vomit and sleep all day. I wish a SAHM could call in sick sometimes.

Enjoy your day with a great start to blueberry pancakes. That sounds yummy!

oh thank you - all. please know Jlynnb that I avoid posting about all the time my kids spend playing video games and / or watching t.v., and that breakfast is pretty much the only meal I get ambitious about regularly. I have a thing for breakfast, and it was something my mom didn't bother with, so I've chosen to do so. My kids regularly snack through lunch, and then we finally get around to dinner around 7 or 8 PM.

so glad I had this to refer back to this afternoon. the boys spent the afternoon at "KidsPark", and when I picked them up I was told that Jacob had been pushing girls and had been sent to time out. when I tried to discuss this with him, he was steadfast in his choice to push if they wouldn't get out of his way.

It's now 6:23PM and he's been fed & sent to bed for the night (not b/c of the pushing, b/c of his behavior since I picked him up at 3:30PM.). I've never actually sent him to bed this early, and bed w/o his brother, so we'll see if this has any impact.
