  • Can't wait!

My middle son (8) went to sleep-away camp on Sunday, for just a half-week. I go get him tomorrow, and I can't wait! I have really, really missed him the past couple of days. My oldest son went to the same camp earlier this summer for a whole week, and I don't remember feeling this way. I think it is because all three boys were at my ILs for a week....I just got them back last Thursday. DH and I were gone most of the day Saturday, and then we took him to camp Sunday.

He is also my calm child....the oasis of peace between his two intense brothers. It has been interesting the past few days watching the oldest and the youngest interact. They both talk a mile a minute, and unbeknownst to them, they have cracked me up (and DH, when he has been around) many, many times.

It will be nice to have my boys all back home tomorrow night. (Someone will need to remind me I said that in about a week! )

I don't know how you do it Sally. I love / worship / adore my kids. I'm either starved for time alone / away from them ... and when I am I just miss them and want to have them to cuddle. I don't think I'm dealing well with them getting older. I them to be my sweet little lovers ... not these assertive, bossy, antagonistic little devils. They have their sweet moments still ... but the other side just drains me!

Oh, I am so there with you. My oldest is leaving for two weeks to visit grandparents, and I am freaking out about it! He is 8. He is so helpful to me, and those two weeks are going to crawl by.
