I know must of the moms and dads on this board have young children. I was wondering who else has entered the tween zone? My son is now 10 and he's .....changing. He watches different TV, rejects games with the little sister and is hanging sports posters all over his room.

Anyone else in this phase of parenthood?

Right there with you......Luke is 11. Sometimes it is horrible, sometimes it is great.

Luckily, both my kids have discovered "Drake and Josh" and "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide" on Nick. They've been watching those in the mornings/late evenings in leui of cartoons. DS is hanging out with the grown ups at the BBQs and complaining about the "little girls chasing him". DH told him he wouldn't mind in a few years.

It is bittersweet. I feel a little out of my element as well, because it is so different. I may have to *gasp* pick up a new parenting book. I haven't looked at one since DD was 2. It is funny how there is so little guidance for this stage. With the baby years, you have to filter everything out because there is too much information. With the teen years, you see stories in the newspapers all the time. But 10? 11?

Any suggestions? I liked the Mother's Almanac for the little kids phase. She has a second one for 7-12. I've also heard the "My Teen is Crazy" series is good.
