Dh just woke up with a rash all over his legs and arms. I'm worried that he has poison ivy. My MO is to deal and call the ped in the morning if there's still a problem or call dh and get instructions on what to do. Rashes are tricky though. He's scratching so it is likely PI. We did a nice hike along a PI lined trail yesterday. That means we may all get it.

I know that there is a shot for those that are VERY allergic, like my brother. But I think that most likely you get a cream that feels good for the length of time that you are able to rub it on the area, then it still itches.
Been there, done that....feel your pain and their pain too!

As it turns out I was told that it isn't poison ivy. Rather it is probably viral. A strep swab was taken as well. The little guy is itchy, but otherwise fine.
Thanks for the info about the poison ivy shot though. We do a lot of hiking and this is the season. The kids are into climbing trees now so we do step off the trails for low hanging branches. I am *pretty good* about tick checks and showers for the guys when we finish our hikes.
