  • 1st day of kindergarten!

Today was Jacob's 1st day of kindergarten. He was really excited about it, but I could tell that once he got home he was relieved to be "free". He stripped right down to his underwear (his favorite outfit for home) & went down to the playroom to chill out.

He came home with a drawing titled "first day of kindergarten" and he drew our family on it. dh came home from work to drop him off w/us, and I'm really happy that Jacob will have that memory -- and that all 4 of us are represented in the drawing.

    my baby is growing up!

Happy first day of kindergarten! How wonderful that Jacob had his whole family there for this milestone.

It's such a cliche, but they really do grow up so fast...

Doesn't kindergarten seem so....big? Like you might as well be sending him off to college?

Ok, maybe not that dramatic. But there is definitely something about seeing all of those big kids that makes it way different than preschool.

That's great that everyone could start him off for the first day!

Did you celebrate after he got home (and stripped- man, that's such a guy thing, isn't it?)

        Congrats to all!

No more celebrating tonight - unless you count the fact that the kid got to eat ribs for the 2nd night in a row. He loves him some barbeque! Yesterday he asked for ribs, so I said we could go out since it was the night before school started. He said "No - how about we just have Dad pick it up on the way home."

Seriously - he doesn't want to do anything he has to leave the house for, because then he has to put clothes on. This could become an issue ...

Kindergarten is a big step and so bittersweet. Cracks me up that he stripped as soon as he got home. Did Quinn enjoy having momma all to himself or did he miss his brother?

Your kids crack me up. He might be on to something -- a bbq joint where patrons can eat in the underwear. Hmm...would have to have dark lighting.
