  • thursday is the BIG day!

Im so nervous. Thursday I am taking my ds to pre-school. He will be attending a place that is run by the hospital system. I have heard nothing but fatastic things about it....but, I am still so nervous. He is only going two half days a week. I have only left him with my mom, my best friend, and the babysitter we had over the summer. I can count on two hands the number of times he has been away from me in 3.5 years. I know this is going to be so great for him. He is beyond excited, and even thinks he is riding his tryke to school. He has his Finding Nemo backpack ready to go and keeps telling my two girls...."NO! only joshua is going to school, you stay with mommy!!!" *Sigh* My little big man is leaving my nest part time.

(on the up-side, I could really use a tiny break from my little AR son )

Oh good luck! He will have a blast, and it is so good for them!

Wait until your last goes. That is when you really loose it.

I had seriously mixed emotions dropping Nikolai off- and now? I drop him off and before I can even bend over to give him a kiss, he's sitting at his little table eating breakfast- and occasionally says "bye momma".

He's happy to see me at the end of the day but he LOVES having new stuff to do and new people to do it with.

I'm hoping to have more of a reaction from him by the time he leaves for college, but I doubt it.

Thinking of you today Sylvia. He will be fine. He'll probably love it. You may worry until you see him again. Enjoy having just the two little ones. I'll bet he'll be so proud of himself when he comes home.

today was the meet and greet! everything went well and ds seemed to be just fine. it will be interesting to see how things go tomorrow. there is a one way mirror that is in an observation booth.....i may stick around tomorrow for a few minutes to check it out.

the thing that freaks me out a bit germs. oh, dear...there were some gross snotty noses there while visiting. nothing gags me more than snot....green snot. :! i hope that my boy stays relatively healthy....i hate colds/the flu/ear infections. oh well....i guess this is part of the package. my goal is to have him there by 10am tomorrow. we arent real good about getting out in the am by a certain time. i havent had to do that in a while.

Glad to hear it went well!

I've been keeping one of those hand sanitizers in the car and use it right after preschool pick up. When DD comes home from school, first thing is to wash her hands. I have to think it helps!

                      Green snot...that just hangs there....I know.... :!

i should have stock in the hand sanitizer dept. we have quite a few bottles haning around. i'll have to make sure my car always has some on hand (no pun intended) for when i pick him up.

                          How did it go?

We had our first preschool day yesterday. I think we have dropped off her big sister often enough that it seemed ok to her.

                            Us too Nellie -
My 2 YO had been with us to the school so many times he just took it in stride when he stayed. And this is the first year that my 4 YO hasn't had sympathetic sobbing with the new kids.
I keep feeling like this is too easy, something terrible is still gonna happen...

Hope everybody is having easy adjustments

it went great. dd was the one who had a TOTAL meltdown. she had a fit...didnt want to leave the playground and "my brodder!...where is my brodder???!!!" followed by sobs, screams and huge tears. she carried on all day about that and when we went to get him she was all excited....because "we're picking up by brodder"

the thing that i felt bad about....ds is a loner. im hoping this two day a week thing will help him. when i picked him up he was in the corner of the playground just hanging out by himself. he was perfectly content...it just made me sad.

his teachers couldnt believe it was his first time in pre-school. they said he was very quiet, well behaved and didnt cry a bit.

he ate lunch, used the potty, played, read, sang, and was happy to see us.
