  • My poor starving child...

I'm sure the school now thinks I'm a huge flake. Last week, Sydney was in the lunch room all upset because she didn't have her lunch. A friend of mine who happened to be there eating with her son ended up sharing with her. I later discovered that her lunch box was in her backpack and she just didn't see it because her sweater was on top of it. Fast forward to today. I gave her lunch money because I didn't have time to pack a lunch for her. I told her no fewer than 3 times that the money was in the front pocket of her backpack and she should give it to her teacher. This afternoon her teacher calls me to let me know Sydney once again didn't have any lunch. Apparently she was in the lunchroom and was telling whoever was in charge that I was supposed to be bringing her lunch. Don't ask me where she pulled that out of! So, in her 7 days total of school, she has twice not had a lunch. We are off to a great start!

Methinks today she probably liked the attention it got her the other day.

Makes you feel like everyone thinks that your kids belong somewhere....else

We had the same problem a million times with our oldest son (BIG scatterbrain) and finally bought an insulated lunch box that clips on to his book bag, might help?

PS They will lose the lunch box though and digging through the lost and found amongst the rotting food, not so pretty :!

Last night when I was tucking her in she asked me why I didn't bring her lunch today. I asked her if she remembered the conversation we had that morning about her buying her lunch and she said "oh yeah, I forgot". :thud: Today I packed her lunch and had her put it in her backpack herself, maybe that way she will remember that she does in fact have a lunch!
