  • Itsy-Bitsy Spider

Anna has a pet spider. Ever since seeing some enormous spider webs yesterday, she has been way into the spiders.

We have the pet spider in a bug jar with leaves and other stuff. She likes to take her spider everywhere with her, to the bathroom, etc.

But....it is an itsy bitsy spider that, when it wants to try, can crawl out of the holes in the top of the jar. So every once in a while I hear a shriek and "Spider got out, help me chase the spider!" and we go on a spider chase. Somehow I need to let this guy out and go recruit a new, bigger guy.

Wow, Nellie. You are way too lenient and tolerant with pets, I think!

If it we me, the isty bitsy spider would want to go down the water spout. Flush.

I'm not very scared of spiders and this is just a little guy. A spider infestation would not be so cool.

If it was a snake, it would be a *completely* different situation. It wouldn't be in the house to begin with!

How neat...though I'd be putting it out in the garden or...stepping on it We've had a variety of grasshopper, frog, toad, ladybug, beetle, salamander pets this summer because Alex is our little scientist It's fun to watch them explore and learn.

I am not afraid of spiders. I just think it's best if they are not pets. Mice and rats on the other hand...

My phobia of the rodents is not normal. I got a C on my owl pellet lab in anatomy/physiology (senior year of high school) because I made Chad do all the work in our partnership. If only that teacher knew now how equitable the work in our partnership was.
