Sitting for multiple kids

How much more do you think a sitter should get paid per kid? I was paying 8 an hr for one, now I pay 10 for my two kids. Tonight one sitter watched four kids and there was some debate on how much was ok. I was all for 12-14 but one person wanted to pay like 20 bucks an hour. Three of the four were asleep for the night within an hour and a half and the sitter was just watching TV after that.

I'm more for the 12-14. We usually just bump it up a bit for each kid. We only paid a sitter 20+ once for multiple kids - and that was because a friend's sitter cancelled on them last minute. We told our sitter she would get paid by both of us at the going rate if she just watched everyone. She was thrilled. I don't think that the 20+ option for sittting happens often for any sitter!

(How much does Kris pay anyway? She's got 5 on her own! I can't imagine she pays that much more than everyone else just because of the large family size.)

That's what we do -- the $12-14 for a sitter who usually charges $10/hr for two.

I pay 10 bucks for 2 kids, and I will probably bump it up to 12-14 for the next one. I am think an additional 2 bucks an hour per kid over the "going rate" is fine. However, I always overpay because my kids don't sleep and are totally ill-behaved

We ended up paying her 17 an hour which I thought was completely redonkulous.

Tonight I got paid 15/hour for two!! It sure does pay to babysit rich kids!
